A different kind of sequence
The following details apply here. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. The tableau has seven columns. Scorpion on yzxlove.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game.
Read the opening cards
All cards in the last three columns are face up. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. Three cards remain in the stock.
Build in the same suit
Here are the details for this mode. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts.
Move exposed groups
The following details apply here. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule.
The empty-column rule
A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King.
Reveal the hidden cards
The following details apply here. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed.
The final three cards
Here are the details for this mode. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. The stock contains one final deal of three cards.
Complete a suit
A few details help explain this feature. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit.
Practice Scorpion decisions
Here are the details for this mode. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation.
